Disney Polynesian-room request?
Hi. I will be traveling with my family to Orlando in April. I have 4 kids (4-10) and will probably be getting 2 adjoining rooms at the Polynesian and was wondering which building I should request that is close to the monorail, TTC (to ride to Epcot) and the pool, etc. I will be attending a meeting and my husband will have an easier time if we stay inside and close to transportation since he will be managing the 4 kids. He is a stay-at-home Dad and is used to it, but I want to make it as painless as possible. I have read the unofficial guide to WDW and searched around the Internet. I would appreciate any additional suggestions. Thanks!

I do not know the names of the buildings, but ask to be near the main building (lobby), as the monorial stops right in front of there. Also, all the restaurants are in that building. Otherwise, you could be on the perimeter doing alot of walking when you are tired at the end of the day.

Hi..the monorail is located outside the Main Building which house the restaurants and gift shops. The guest rooms are located in buildings around the Main Building. It is an easy and pleasant walk from the guest buildings to the main building, pool areas, and beach.

Kris,
I suggest you go to www.wdwinfo.com, if you haven't already. There's a section on resorts, with a forum like this, where you can find very detailed information--which Poly building is the best, etc. You'll also probably find tips for requesting specific buildings--and if not, then post a question. I guarantee you a result w/in hours.

It has been years since we visited DW but we stayed at the Polynesian and loved it because of its close proximity to the Transportation and Ticket Center. The Monorail does pick up guest from the main building but we found it much faster to walk right next door to the main Transportation Center. Then you didn't have to stop at the other hotels to pick up their guests and you could get the direct monorail to Epcot and MGM. I don't know what the buildings are called but ask for the one closest to the Transportion Center. (Also ask if the kids can ride up front with the conductor. Mine got to do this several times during our stay. The boys loved it.) Have fun.
