Disney/Keys in October
 

This is the plan. My husband and I arrive at Disney Oct. 14 for 6 nights. We rent a car and drive to Key West for a 3 night stay, spending one night somewhere on the way. Our stay in Key West (at the Blue Marlin) falls at the same time as a Jimmy Buffet convention, as well as, the beginning of the Fall Festival. We will be driving up to Miami on the last day for a mid-afternoon flight home. Any suggestions regarding where to stay enroute to Key West? What will Key West be like? Normally outrageous or abnormally outrageous? Does anyone see any pitfalls in this vacation plan? Thanks for any input.

Lucky you to be in Key West For the Meeting Of The Minds (Jimmy Buffett convention).The Parrotheads will be ready to party, I would love to be there then. Make sure when your in KW to eat at the Blue Heaven restaurant, the hours are different I think lunch is over at 2:00.

What can you tell me about the Jimmy Buffet convention? Does it happen at the same time each year? Where can I get more info - sounds like a BLAST and I LOVE Key West! Thanks!

I can't tell you much, because it's purely coincidental that we'll be there at the same time. After that week-end, I'll probably be a Buffet expert. Who knows, I may even buy one of his CD's (or not)!!
