I hear you. We've been to WDW 3 times. We just got back, my husband was going for CA World paid for by his company so I thought, what the heck stay in the hotel for free. Universal was great, Islands of Adventure was fun although a little crowded. It was very HOT!!! RECORD HEAT. Then we went to Magic Kingdom. OH MAN!! It was the MOST CROWDED I've ever seen. Thank goodness my 4 year old is scared of every ride. We did exactly 3 things plus the parade. Thats all. She wanted to go back to the hotel and swim in the pool. If you go once and do a lot of research as to when to go, and plan your trip it's a lot better (Did that the first time we went, and I'm Disney fanatic). But let's face it, it's a money making materialistic commercial multi-billion dollar business, not magic land. And most people there (including me) are over-indulgent materialistic middle class people who are spoiling they're kids. You should see the pushing and shoving to see a character!!! What are we teaching our kids? But, having said that, I do believe there's a balance here. It can be enjoyable and fun at certain times and if you're prepared and WANT to go and spend the money. You can figure out ways to go for less money so, go see it one more time for your husband and then suggest something else for next year.....Euro Disney maybe (HA, HA)

We went in January a few years ago. It was cool! (no really, it WAS sweater weather some days). But, my wife said that compared with even November, the crowds were nothing. We just walked right onto Pirates of the Carribean, "small world", and the sky-ride; Haunted house was a 20-minute wait, log ride varied from 10 minutes to 40. The Haunted Hotel drop was 1 hr.<BR>I can't imagine waiting hours in sweltering heat for some of those rides.<BR>For 2, it was significantly cheaper than Italy or Britain...<BR>If you live near the border, hop across to Canada here for a park pass at the Disney store. We just bought 3-day DL-CA passes for $150 each, and they are on special - valid for 5 days; so in REAL Dollars, that's about $20US a day.<BR> I love animation, and have a lot of Disney's movies on DVD (the good animated ones); but I wouldn't go more than every 4 or 5 years, when they change some things from the previous visit.

What's really sad is that parents keep taking their kids to Disney for vacation when they could be taking them to places like Gettysburg where kids will actually learn something.

Where did your parents take you when you were growing up so you could learn something? Mine took me to the beach,Europe,Mexico,and DisneyLand.

What makes you think parents aren't taking their kids to both Disney and Gettysburg?

That's the frighteneng part Ilisa, chances are the Dis lovers ARE taking their kids to Gaitlenburg. Imagine the cultural mecca those poor kids have to draw from, the 2 white trash capitols of the world!

Ditz - <BR><BR>Ilisa said "Gettysburg" - not "Gaitlenburg" (sic). You also either spelled "capital" incorrectly or don't understand the difference between the 2 terms - it's hard to tell which. I normally don't point these things out, but until you learn your way around a sentence (i.e. how to read and spell), you might want to refrain from referring to others as white trash.
