Disney Florida - Which parks to go for 1.5 days?

I'm heading to Orlando with my girlfriend and planning just 1.5 days in Disney. We should arrive there at 3pm, and then also have the entire following day to spend in the parks. We would like to visit at least 2 parks and need some suggestions on our tight schedule!

I suggest that you post your question on disboards.com. The people over there will have excellent advice.

...or the Orlando forum of Tripadvisor.

The parks are vastly different from one another. Since we know nothing about you, it would be impossible for us to advise you.
Go to this site to see what attractions are in each park and then decide what you would like to experience.

For adults, Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Def skip Magic Kingdom.

JSP21 Dec 6th, 2013 05:30 AM

we aren't really into the disney magic, we just want the crazy rides! From what I read so far, Epcot would require a full day, so will Hollywood Studios be small enough to fit into half a day?

What time of year are you planning on going?

JSP21 Dec 6th, 2013 05:59 AM

next week, arriving on monday!

Hollywood Studios can be done faster than the other parks. If you are only going for the "crazy rides", you will only like the Rock N Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror at the Studios. Seems like a lot of $$ to spend for only two "crazy rides".
If you are into rides you would be better off going to Universal's Island of Adventure and Universal Studios.

For adults I would do part of a day at the studio and a whole day at Epcot. But the really thrill rides are spread out among the different parks. But that you will have to buy a multi-park tickets.

To do the best rides in EPCOT you have to have a plan.

Soarin' is really amazing, but the lines are extremely long, and the Fastpasses are usually gone by noon. The only way we got to ride it was to run straight there when the park opened, and get in line. We waited for about 45 minutes and it was well worth it!

Test Track can also have long lines. If you don't have kids in your party and you don't mind riding in a car with other people, the Single Rider line moves a lot faster than the group line. The ride is really amazing!

My husband rode Mission to Mars, and he really enjoyed it. I decided to skip this one because I had heard too many reports of people getting motion sick on the ride.

In Hollywood Studios, the Rock & Roller Coaster is VERY worth the wait in line. I wanted to ride it again!

It really depends on what you consider a 'crazy' ride. If you're looking for an amusement park junkie and looking for roller coaster type thrill rides, then I completely agree with schmerl. I would add that you might be really disappointed with the Disney parks.

My opinion of the rides that ChristieP mentioned at Epcot: Soarin' is vastly overrated, Test Track is vastly overrated and Mission to Mars is ok. I wouldn't call any of them thrill rides. Of the 3 I think I was most dissapointed with Test Track - I was thinking it was going to be far more intense than it was. I've had more thrilling rides in my own car lol.

Epcot, you can go early and do rides but tour all the countries and enjoy the laser show at night. You might want to do Universal for your half day.

spirobulldog Dec 6th, 2013 05:31 PM

Even though the Magic Kingdom doesn't have the "crazy rides", if you have never seen it, I think you shouldn't miss it.

spirobulldog Dec 6th, 2013 05:34 PM

You might want to head to Universal, if you want the wilder rides.
