Disney Discovery Meal Plan
Hello! Hubby and I are headed to Disney for our first visit ever in May. We have reservations at the Animal Kingdom Lodge with a savannah view. We chose the Discovery Magic Plan and I would love some insight into how to best use the "magical wishes" we have for meals.

Check out wdwig.com for menus of all WDW restaurants and for any detail about a Disney vacation you could imagine. disinfo.com is another over the top site. I understand the restaurant at the Animal Kingdom Lodge is quite good. Personally I've enjoyed the food in Japan at Epcot, the barbeque at the Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge. Usually the highest reviews go to the Flying Fish on the Boardwalk.

Thanks Bennie for the info. Do you, or does anyone else have any feedback regarding the spa at Grand Floridian or Disney Institute?

Theresa,

Your big deal is a "Disney Discovery Meal Plan"????????

I think you have had to meany "Happy Meals" or whateve McDonalds calls them these days.

You've got to be kidding

I'm going to calmy ingore the ignorance of the previous message. This person is obviously not familar with the vacation packages available at WDW.

Any feedback on the spas?

Does anyone know if you can use the magic wishes on the discovery meal plan at the Hop De Do dinner show or at the Laua? And does anyone have a current list of the resturants and numbr of wishes for each. Disney seems to change the plan every cuple of months. Thank you in advance.

I don't know anything about their meal plans (because I live in Orlando), but both Boma the buffet and Jiko the restaurant at AKL are excellent. If you've never been to the Pacific Northwest, give the restaurant at the Wilderness Lodge a try. The Flying Fish does indeed get good reviews, as does the Kona Cafe (a misnomer, it's quite a nice restaurant) in the Polynesian Hotel. The California Grill at the Contemporary Resort wins Best Restaurant in Orlando year after year.

The Disney Institute itself has closed (as of Feb), but the Grand Floridian is wonderful (and of course expensive!)
