We enjoyed the California Grill at the top of the Contemporary Hotel . . It's closed now for reno, but depending on when you are there, could be good choice.

The Contemporary is on the monorail line, too, so easy access to/from the Park.

Victoria and Albert's sounds great. However, I'm not ready to spend three digits per person since there are so many of us. The California Grill will still be closed when we are there - otherwise that would be perfect.

Love Doug's ideas too. But, since we're only there for two nights I thought it might be best to stick with a Disney or Disney resort property for dinner and then take advantage of the late night opening -- that is to say the young people could go right back into MK until 1AM.

Our favorite Disney meal in the past has been at Jiko and Boma. However, I keep thinking that the fireworks could be magical. Now that I've looked more closely at the room at Park Fare, I wonder if it's dated. I originally thought that the sushi options, watermelon soup and watercress salad would please some while the pasta stations would please the others. It's hard when you want something nice but are kinda cheap too. :)

Are there good views from the Polynesian even if you don't get prime seating? Does that look pretty dated too? I'll look at the Wilderness Lodge options too.

How about Narcoossee's or Artists' Point? Both have fireworks views. The food at Narcoossee's is better (imo) than that of Artists's Point. However, I wouldn't ever think of anyplace at WDW as a 'foodies' destination. Just pick a great setting and enjoy.

I've seen the fireworks twice from a distance. I find them much better up close and personal, maybe that's just me. Disney does pipe in the sound to go with the fireworks at various places though--pretty sure they do at Poly. Dining while the fireworks are in progress also means a fairly late meal. I think about anything would be good though. My daughter(now 19) would be fine with VA or Characters, I think both still give me pleasure and a smile too.

Our favorite place to watch the fireworks is the Crown and Rose Pub in Epcot . . it's right on the lake. Excellent Fish and Chips. .

This may be out of your price range, and I'll admit that it has been 16 years since I ate there, but we did the Luau at the Polynesian Resort while we were on our honeymoon and I remember the whole experience being very fun and the food surprisingly good. It is the sort of place that I think would be fun for a birthday, because it's very festive and lively.

What about tickets for the Wishes Dessert Party?

For dinner, MK doesn't have much to offer IMO.

People seem to love Ohana at the Poly.

Or the restaurants at AKL are different with excellent food.

We were there last week and ate at Teppan Edo in Japan at Epcot. They cook the food in front of you and put on a little show. We really enjoyed it. I think teenagers would, too.

After, the girls can shop around the World Showcase. Then, grab and gelato in Italy and stay for the fireworks show. It was about 15 minutes long. We just found a spot on the walkway around the water 15 minutes before the show started.

They can ride Soarin after the fireworks.

We had a great dinner one night at Via Napoli. The girls loved the truffle pizza and the very charming sever. ;)

The Grand Floridian seemed so special to them with the piano player and the lobby etc. had a lovely old-timey elegance. As for 1900 Par Fare for the special night, well, the characters were funny and charming. The meal had some nice components. However, the lighting was just off. It gave the place a bizarre cafeteria look. Don't feel the need to return. But, the teens were just thrilled to be there and had fun.
Oh yes! We had a really nice lunch at Be Our Guest (long line) and absolutely adored our drinks and small plates at Blue Zoo.
