Disney Alaskan Cruise

My husband and I are traveling with our three children (ages 6, 7 and 11) to Alaska aboard the Disney Wonder in June. What are the best port adventures for children of this age? This is a once in a lifetime trip for us, but the excursions are so expensive, I want to choose wisely. Thank you!

Which ports (otherwise we'd have to search for the cruise to look for the itinerary)

Even better - why not give us a list of the excursions you are considering . . .

Go to the cruise forum. You will find several posts about Alaska with kids and on the cheap. I just brought one to the top for you so it wil be easy to find. It is by a poster named Eschew and his topic is about the cheapest way to do shore excursions from a cruise ship.

You need to consider what your children would enjoy. We went to Alaska when our daughter was 7. She enjoyed the seeing animals so the whale watching was a big hit as was the sled dog visit. She loved holding the sled dog puppies. Easy hiking was also fun. The rest of the trip involving site seeing was boring for her.
