Just visited Discovery Cove in January. It was great! My daughter(17) and i went. We loved it !! It is an experience you will never forget! The food was good too. We were VERY impressed. I don't know that I would do again. Only because we have done it already but it is a must! They have their own web site @ discoverycove.com it gives you all the information you will need. They only allow 1000 guests per day. You may want to make your reservations in advance if you are on a schedule. Go, you will love it !!

Captive dolphins swims are very cruel to the dolphins. Dolphins are very social and intelligent and should not be held in captivity, its basically dolphin slavery. The hunt for dolphins is very violent, removing (if not killing) them from their pods (or extended family). Captive dolphins die unnaturally young from stress related diseases, they have high infertility and miscarriage rates. They are kept hungry in order to perform for the tourists. There is worldwide movement to try to abolish this extremely inhumane and exploitive treatment of these mammals. Please educate yourself and then make the heart felt decision against it.

If you TRULY LOVE dolphins, please read the following links:

A website by a former dolphin trainer (of the famous Flipper), who turned anti captive dolphin activist: http://www.dolphinproject.org/

as well as a site from The Humane Society:
http://www.hsus.org/programs/wildlif...m_dolphin.html

If you want to swim w/ dolphins please do it in the WILD! Thank you for your consideration.

Of course, it is illegal to attempt to swim with wild dolphins.
Leila neglected to mention that there are some wonderful human-dolphin therapy programs for children with very severe physical and mental disabilities.
If that's slavery, so's owning a seeing-eye dog. As Leila said, you make the choice.
