Wow, has that two-hour ride in a golf cart gone up to $62? Makes the $105 full-day Disneyland ticket look like quite a bargain.

I have taken this tour twice: 12 years ago and 1 year ago. The most recent tour was so poorly conducted that, with great effort, I received a complete refund. However, I lost a half day of my life forever.

Second the above sentiment. It's a tram though. :)

For those considering the tour, last I heard tickets to live tapings of TV shows were still free, and the general feedback is that these tapings are more informative and enjoyable than studio tram rides. I doubt this is true for everyone though, e.g. a tour is probably better suited for history buffs and others who may not care about the current workings of the industry.

As for $62, imo it's relative. The Winchester Mystery House charges not much less for a tour, and if someone asked me to account for why I'd be at a loss to explain it. Hence its name imo.

Well, I've never understood the allure of these tours, but I'm not a tourist in L.A. But I don't like Vegas either, and you couldn't pay ME to go there.

When they are well done they give a basic understanding of what goes into making a movie and they take you on great backlots and sets for programs you've watched on TV. All aspects of movie production and promotion (costumes, props, poster design, etc.) are covered.

Warner Brothers demolished its wonderful Western lot with the buildings we've seen for decades, and they have watered the tour down to not much of anythingl.

Most studios now offer a VIP or Deluxe Tour that gives the background that used to be included in the basic tour. At Warner Brothers it costs $295. The Paramount VIP Tour is $178.

I don't think the tours have been any good since they tore down the back lots at Fox and built Century City. About 25 years ago, I worked briefly in the Fox Plaza which was at that time rather isolated and had no food vendors, so tenants were allowed access to the Fox commissary during lunch hours. Now THAT was fun.

Ive been on the WB tour twice in the past 50 years, last in 2008. Each time I never thought it was a waste of money. But even in 2008, I think I paid less than 30pp

If you're not a fan of classic TV shows (Blondie Street is pretty cool imo, arguably the most interesting thing on the WB tour) and you don't especially care about seeing the Friends set and fountain, imo you'll probably be disappointed in the WB tour. happytrailstoyou has the definitive comment imo, there really isn't much left compared to years past.
