Directionally challenged seeks mentors

Can anyone suggest an app or website for routing our self guided "tours" of Greenwich Village and Brooklyn? I'd like to make sure we use a logical route to see the things we'd like to. I tried Google maps, but I couldn't get it to add multiple destinations. I'm clearly not technology minded, so keep that in mind. I'd appreciate the advice. I've been looking for some time and haven't found something that works for me.

I do not but there are many small streets in the West Village that are simply wonderful to get lost in and you would still only moments from civilization.

IMD- Yes, I'd probably do better to relax and get lost a little. My family would also love me more.

Why would you get lost without them?

BTW, when walking around the Village be sure go to the Washington Muse and see the residential architecture between 5th and 6th Aves between 9-12 Streets.

If you have b-ball fans in the family be sure to stop by The Cage which is basketball court that has smaller than regulation and the guys there play a tough brand of ball. 6th Ave and 4th Street.

Then on the other side of 7th Ave are the smaller streets like Horatio, Commerce, Barrow, Charles, and Perry.

Murray's Cheese on Bleecker is probably the best cheesemonger in the city and Matt Umanov on Bleecker has adults selling guitars and you never know who will pop in there. Cones and Grom have excellent ice cream and gelati.

And one of the best places for people watching is Washington Square Park.

One of our favorite restaurants over there Mary's Fish Camp. It is PITA as it is small and they do not take reservations. And if you are there during teh week a NYC institution, the Corner Bistro for burgers. It is a zoo on weekends and many week night.

Washington News is the correct name, though muse was a nice typo, located between Fifth Ave and University between 8thaIland Washington Square.

8thaIland = 8th St and (talk about typos)

Well that's too bad. Washington has plenty of news, but it could really use a muse right now.

IMD- Thank you for the suggestions on good places to get lost. I hope we have a chance to see some of them. It allready feels like there isn't ehough time. I guess that's why we'll have to keep coming back.

Hey Ellen, we both got it wrong-it is the Washington Mews.

Freetoursbyfoot are not self guided. You sign up and tip the guide at the end.

Sorry. Should have taken the reader through the clicks necessary to get to the self guided tour from the main page. My apologies. Here's the link (I hope).

Dbdurand- I have looked at their site. The site says they make free self guided tours available in a PDF form ,but after clicking on it , it appears to be just a list of suggestions for hotels, food, and shopping. I'd rather get those suggestions here. : )

I stand corrected. The link you provided works just fine.
