Direct Flight or Stopover in mid-Feb??

I am ready to book our flight into Tampa from Detroit. I can either pay $235 each with a stop in Chicago or $286 for a non-stop flight. We leave Feb. 19 and return Mar. 5. My thinking is that at that time of year, Chicago can get pretty socked in and I am doubling my chances of getting delayed. I'm just wondering if you think it's worth the $100 for the pair of us to avoid a stopover in case of weather problems? Any thoughts? Thanks.

I've done the Chicago-delayed flight-in-December thing...Pay the $100!!

You're asking this question for $100??? I'm not sure it's worth the time to ask the question never mind to consider a stopover!

Definitely avoid O'Hare in February if you can. It's well worth more than the $100 price difference.

Non stop. Always. If possible.

Well that was easy...and we have a 2 hr. drive to Detroit to contend with before we even start! So non-stop it is. Thanks everyone.

I agree with the others - NEVER EVER take stop-over or connecting flights when you can get where you are going non-stop. The more times you take off and land and the more chances there are for some type of delay.
