Dinner Reservations in Las Vegas
We are going to LV the first week of December. Is it necessary to make dinner reservations before we go or is it ok to wait till we get there? Thank you for the info.

Really depends on where you want to go. For the top, "hot" restaurants, the earlier the better. If you know where you might want to go, you can make reservations now, then juggle once you get there depending on what else is available. Waiting til the last minute might close you out of some places, but you'll definitely be able to get in somewhere (just maybe not your top choice).

To add to that, I would recommend consulting with the concierge services at your hotel. They're there to help you with stuff like last-minute restaurant reservations, club guest lists, etc.
Well, at the better hotels they are.... |
Another side note is when you dine. Many of the top restaurants are totally packed from 6-8, but might have a spot around 5 or after 9. It depends on if you're just there for the food or for the people watching, too.
IMO, make some reservations- especially on the weekends- if you know where you want to eat. Winging it is also fun- you might discover your favorite restaurant! Have a great time! =:) |
Shelly- I have no idea where you are staying..We tried to make reservations ahead of time at Le Cirque in the Bellagio, only to be told there were none to be had..
The restaurant is in the Bellagio, where we were staying...so when we checked in, we headed straight to the concierge and she was able to get us a table with NO PROBLEM...It was probably one of the BEST meals of our lives and definitely worth it... |
BTW, Le Cirque has received the 5 diamond award from AAA. So it's really yummy and worth it, but will probably be really packed. =:)

I've been to Vegas many many times, the first few without reservations for dinner and it can be a nightmare to get into a decent restaurant (and I'm not even talking upscale)...doesn't matter what day of the week it is. I would HIGHLY recommend making reservations for each night you are there if you are planning on doing the dinner thing.

Hi shelly, we will be there next week, for Thanksgiving.
Because the hotel told me that we should book as far in advance as I could, I booked all our restaurants about a month and a half ago. Some are new places, some are old standbys, but even 6 weeks ago, Prime and Onda were pretty well booked up. So if you have ideas now of where you want to eat, I would suggest booking now, you can always cancel if you change your mind. I just hate having to find a place last minute and not at the time I like. |
