Dinner near Denver airport?

Staying at Comfort Suites near Denver airport 1 nt. Any decent restaurants nearby? Thanks.

There is a Bennegan's near the airport plus a diner. It seems like there was also a Village Inn type place going up the last time we were there. There might also be a restaurant in the Embassy Suites but really that's about it. The area's still fairly new and restaurants are in way short supply right by the airport.

Jacqueline1212,

Is this the Comfort Suites on Tower Road? If so, you'd be much better off driving a little ways if you have use of a car. If not, you're going to have to resign yourself to eat at some of the lower echelon chains.

Let me know if you have a car, wish to drive and have a particular type of food you enjoy.

If you have a car, I would definitely recommend driving into Denver to eat. As others have mentioned, there isn't a whole lot by the airport.

Thanks all. Yes, we will have a car but have never been into downtown Denver and are not familiar with it. Other than that, we don't mind driving a few miles. We're just looking for decent food, not gourmet but preferably not a franchise.

As noted above, the area near the airport is a wasteland when it comes to decent food. Maybe Moonlight Diner, which should be next door. About 3 miles away on 40th is a Ted's Montana Grill. Although a chain, it's pretty good, and unique. Ted Turner uses it to sell meat from his buffalo herds.

Jacqueline, about 15 minutes from the airport hotels you could eat at a true neighborhood resturant the "Cherry Tomato"
Following is a review
"This charming Park Hill eatery occupies an old pharmacy and still has the original tile floor to prove it. Over the past couple of years, the place has developed a huge following, so it is a good idea to call ahead and get on the waiting list. Or it could be a long wait, especially on weekends. The cozy dining area, which is tucked between an open kitchen and the bar, seats barely 50 people, but gives the place the feel of a true neighborhood bistro. The signature dish, Pasta Felese, is a tasty mix of chicken, artichoke hearts, and other vegetables. If you are searching for a real treat, try the Chicken Marsala."

To get there take 1-70 west to Quebec go left/south to 23rd go right/west It is at the corner of 23rd and Cherry.
