dinner/lunch reservations
Our party of 4 will be dining around 1:00 or 2:00 on a Friday at Becco, then around 4:00 on a Saturday at Gramercy Tavern. I know these places typically require reservations, but will I need them for these 'off' times? Any advice on special requests I should make when making the reservation? Also, would casual (walking shoes, jeans) attire be welcome at GT?
Traveling mid-November. thanks much |
You would be wise to make reservs.
as both are highly popular restaurants serving a sophisticated audience. Would you be comfortable in such surroundings in pub-style attire? Becco 212-397-7597 Gramercy 212-477-0777 |
I agree-make reservations. That would not be normal attire at GT. The bar area is more casual than the dining room. If you don't mind sitting there, you'd be fine. If you want the dining room, dress accordingly.

BTW, not sure GT will be serving at 4 on a Sat.

1PM is a busy time to lunch on Fridays.

About as casual as I would get in Gramercy Tavern would be khakis.

At GT, if you want to eat at an off hour you have to eat in the front Tavern room, which has excellent food and good service and doesn't accept reservations.
