Dinner for 25 In Phila Rest.

I am looking for a restaurtant with a private
room for dinner with 25 people. Would like it fairly close to the Wydham Franklin Hotel.
Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.
Will be doing this in early summer of 2001.
Thanks,
Tony Piccolo

How fancy? The Fountain at the Four Seasons Hotel would have that kind of space, would also be pricey.

I would probably need it to be a little
less costly than the Four Seasons.
Thanks
Tony Piccolo

Another thing = I'm not sure when "early summer" is, but if it's mid-May, PLEASE reserve as soon as possible. That's when Penn's graduation is, and the restaurants in and around the city are swamped with huge parties around then.

Another choice = Susanna Foo on Walnut street -- delicious Chinese, at the more-expensive end of the spectrum (but still not the Four Seasons).

I just sent a whole post and am not sure if it went through. To re-cap:

All of these are a 5 min cabride away from the Wyndham:

D'Angelo's, 20th and Walnut = Italian

Monk's Cafe, 16/17 and Spruce = Belgian/beers (more casual)

Ciboulette, Broad and Walnut in the Bellevue = French

Susanna Foo = expensive Chinese (not as expensive as the Fountain) on Walnut street

marrakesh = down in the Old City, Morroccan = private room, sit on cushions, etc.

Buddakan = DELICIOUS pan-asian in the old city (although you might not get a private room, just a long table in the middle).

not sure if these two accommodate large parties in private room, but might as well try:

Rembrandt's = Art museum area, continental food
Brigid's = art museum area, new-american
Hi thanks for the info, We're planning it for a Tuesday or Wednesday in the second week of July. I am not sure
on the cuisine they may enjoy, so I may
have to play it safe and stick with a
steak/seafood type of restaurant.
Any additional help will be appreciated.
Tony Piccolo
Hi Tony -
You might want to consider the Chart House on Penn's Landing. Seafood and steaks, a nice view of the river, about a 10 minute drive from the Wydham (free valet parking). Closer to the hotel are several steak house chains; Ruth's Chris, Morton's, the Palm, all located on Broad Street - Morton's and the Palm also serve seafood (not sure about Ruth's Chris).
Enjoy your time in Philadelphia.
Joanne

Joanne,

Thank you. The Chart House sounds like
what we may be looking for. Will do some
research on that restaurant.
Tony
