Dining tips in LA
Hello---My husband and I going to LA for 2 nights in a few weeks for a quick getaway...We are staying near the Grove and the Farmer's Market, but will drive for a nice meal. Any suggestions of places we HAVE to go?

As long as you're in the Farmer's Market, don't miss Loteria for Mexican.

Excellent area to be in, and SO many choices. Here is the link to the grove "thegrovela.com" (too many in the grove/farmers mkt to name) My favorite in the area is "AOC" which is on 3rd street. You can probably find reviews on citysearch.com for it. There are many restaurants on 3rd street beginning at Fairfax, heading west on 3rd towards the Beverly Center (about 6-8 blocks worth). All good, but again run a search on citysearch.com (for LA) to see more, Cynthia's, Garvins, and La Terza are all nice. If you take a stroll down 3rd street, you'll see many more, and most have outdoor seating. Also check out this site "3rdstreetla.com" good place to do some shopping too.

Breakfast: Coffee and an almost-burnt apple fritter at Bob's Donuts in the Farmer's Market.
Afternoon snack: Ice Cream Cone from Bennetts, right next to Bob's Donuts. |
Thank you to everyone for your help! I appreciate it and will let you know what we decide. Happy Holidays!
