Dining - Sonoma/Russian River Valley/Napa Areas

My husband I are spending 3 nights at the Inn at Occidental, and a last night in Santa Rosa in October and would love some dining ideas. As a general description I would say we like comfortable, casual and good food. We are not necessarily looking for, nor would we be comfortable with, the cutting edge/funky type places. Not sure if that helps. Any feedback/thoughts will be appreciated. Thanks.

A friend of a friend just opened Pignoli in Occidental and I've been hearing great things about it. Check out the Union or Negri's for homestyle Italian. There are a few sweet places in Sebastopol, Lucy's, K&L Bistro, 101 Main. Yummy sandwiches in Graton at the Willowwood Cafe.

Tony's seafood in Marshall. May or may not be close enough to where you'll be, but it's on the water and tastes that way.
When we are in CA we make a special trip there.

Enjoy.

In the Santa Rosa area, DH and I loved the original Willi's Wine Bar.

In Occidental do the Union Hotel.
K & L Bistro and Lucy's in Sebastopol
are quite good as well.
A trip out to Bodega Bay for a great lunch at the Seaweed Cafe and wine tasting at Gourmet au Bay on the deck would be fun. For your Santa
Rosa dinner, Zazu is most excellent.

Are you doing a spa at Osmosis ?

I had a wonderful pan seared chicken with pine nuts and golden raisins followed by a marscapone panna cotta that was to die for at Pignoli in Occidental last night. Make a reservation on weekend nights.

Husband and I just returned from Sonoma/Napa/San Francisco last night!
We drove from Sebastopol to Occidental one morning and had the most wonderful breakfast(smoked salmon eggs benedict with potatos-about $10)at a place called Howard's Station. Hands down recommend it for you and your husband.
In Sebastopol we ate at Lucy's. Had the homemade pizza and were very happy with it. We also went to Bistro V and it was good but could be a little more "haute cuisine" than you are looking for.
We went to Sushi Hana and had some of the best(affordable) sushi we've ever had.
Another night we strolled down to the Whole Foods market and bought french bread, a couple of cheeses and olives stuffed with garlic. We sat out by our hotel's pool with wine we bought earlier that day! This was a great meal too.
Hope that helps!

Don't forget sticky buns and apricot turnovers at Union Hotel bakery.
