Dining options in GT/Yellowstone
 

Can anyone help with dining options for the two park areas and surrounding areas. We are looking to eat out sometimes and are not familiar with local restaurants. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Bubba's in Jackson was a good, inexpensive place to eat. Yellowstone has very limited places, we found the Old Faithful Inn restaurants better than the rest. Don't expect good food within Yellowstone. Jackson had alot of good restaurants. An Italian restaurant we really liked was something called Nanni's.

In GTNP, we ate at Signal Mountain Lodge, Jackson Lake Lodge, and Jenny Lake Lodge. Signal Mountain Lodge has 2 dining areas, both casual, one more family style, the other more upscale/romantic. We had dinner at the romantic one, very good, and a very good breakfast at the family style dining area. They also have a bar that serves appetizers. Nice place, and we also stayed there in a very comfy rustic cabin. We went to Jenny Lake for lunch, its pricey for dinner, but lunch is doable. It was good, and convenient, as we were doing that part of the park that day anyway. Lots of these places will do packed lunches for you, that way you can hike, then eat at a picnic spot. Jackson Lake lodge had a nice dinner, we like going there before sunset, getting a drink at the bar and wandering to their back patio to watch the elk and moose wander through the flats- take binoculars with you. They have a nice restaurant and a diner-style restaurant. Our dinner at the nice restaurant had the same views as the back patio was very good. Our breakfast at their diner was not so good. In Yellowstone, we at at the Old Faithful Inn, (good, but below GTNP dinners), and Lake Yellowstone Hotel, actually better than Old Faithful. Actually, I'd do both again, historical ambiance is worth it. Having a drink in the lobby of Old Faithful Inn at the end of a long day of hiking is great, beautiful, relaxing place. They also have a sun porch area overlooking the lake at Lake Yellowstone Hotel, with live music, that is good for relaxing, too. One of my favorite vacations to date! Make reservations now!!!

There's a coupon for The Blue Lion restaurant in Jackson at the Wyoming Tourism website. It appears to be a pretty nice place. The coupon gets you 20% off if you show up between 6:00-6:30pm. You can see their menu at www.jacksonholenet.com. I found out about it while researching for my trip there next month.

The Signal Mountain Lodge is good for breakfast. And, as a previous poster said, lunch at the Jenny Lake Lodge is good and manageable, pricewise.

Just avoid any place run by AMFAC!!!<BR><BR>The food is terrible and the service is worse!

Will certainly vouch for Bubbas in Jackson. The fact that our two teen age daughters wanted to return made our evening as my wife and I certainly enjoyed the meal there. We ventured a try there the first evening after I asked a local retail sales clerk where she went for a good meal. Was the first suggestion. Glad we asked.
