Dining near Westin Times Square

I welcome suggestions for reasonable but tasty/interesting breakfast or dinner in the area. Flexible taste, prefer not to be in tourist traps, though I recognize the area is one big tourist trap.

In that general area for dinner I like both Becco and Triomphe.

I think the Westin is on 8th AVe and there are LOTS of restaurants and cafes all the way up the Avenue, so just walk until you find something that looks good.

Also 9th Ave is another restaurant rich avenue and it's mostly locals that hang out there. Restaurant Row is also just a few avenues up off 8th Ave as well.

Have a great time.

Definitely try Chez Josephine one block west of the hotel on 42nd Street, just past 9th Avenue. Excellent food, ambiance and service, topped by experiencing Jean-Claude Baker, the city's leading maitre d'.
