Dining in the Castro area

My partner and I are not very saavy about San Fran. We will be visiting for 3 days this labor. Can anyone help me with advice on dining in the castro while there. Don't want to spend alot.. I'm looking for those hidden places that have great prices and memorable food

It's not "fine dining" -- but good, inexpensive Italian food with lots of locals. The antipasto was HUGE.

Hope you have a great trip.

Songdoc, I was trying to remember the name of that Italian restaurant with the HUGE antipasto!

I also like La Mediterannée nearby on Noe, especially the filo combination plate, http://www.cafelamed.com/noe/pages/lamedsfnoe.html and Café Flor across the street for old times sake http://www.cafeflore.com/, and Orphan Andy's for 24 hr. pancakes.

The Castro Theatre is always lots of fun, too. There is an upcoming 40th anniversary Woodstock showing, and a double feature of Tommy and Pink Floyd's The Wall. http://www.castrotheatre.com/p-list.html

In Mission, but not far from the Castro Pizzeria Delfina. Great food, great prices.

If you make your way to Pizzeria Delfino, save room for ice cream across the street at the Bi-Rite Creamery.

Good call, sf. The salted caramel is excellent. It is fun to be able to have pizza and then ice cream; well, decadent anyway.
