Dining in NYC near Trump Tower..

Could you suggest me any good address near the Trump Tower Hotel where to find an excellent breakfast/brunch and an informal dinner ?
Thanks.

Where is the Trump Tower Hotel? In the Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue and 56th Street?? (I was not aware that this building had a hotel inside).

No - it's the building at the bottom of Central Park West - right by Columbus Circle.

(This is somewhat confusing as there are a bunch of Trump towers in nyc - since he's so modest he plasters his name all over all the buildings - so it's hard to know which one it is - this one, the shopping center on Fifth, the residence on third ave or the gigantic new one by the UN).

What budget and type of cusine for the dinner?

American/Italian cuisine and medium budget.
Is the Hotel in a good position for the shopping or it is an a little too much isolated ?
Thanks again

Norma's in the Le Parker Meridien Hotel has good breakfast/brunch. It's on 67th between 7th and 6th.

Caffe La Fenice on Broadway (68th and 69th) is a good Italian in the Upper West Side. I don't know what medium budget is, but their entrees are in the 20's and apps in the mid teens.

Jean Georges is quite cool. But, again, this may not fall in your "medium budget" category - expect your entrees to be in the mid-30's. Plus it is not Italian/American as the OP had asked for.

If you will spend as much, then Cafe Gray in the Time Warner is a nice restaurant serving good American fare.

If you meant Trump International Hotel at Columbus Circle, there's a French cafe Le Pain Quotidien at 7th ave. & 58th that would be great for breakfast. There's also a Sarabeth's for wonderful breakfast on Central Park South. Rue 57 on 57th st & 6th ave also has a good breakfast/brunch. I agree Norma's would also be good but expensive.

For a fancier weekend brunch, Cafe Botanica in the Essex House Hotel on Central Park South is very good. Also on weekends, Brasserie 8 1/2 has a buffet breakfast, one of the few in NYC.

For informal dinners near there, Kennedy's pub on west 57th st would be very informal (Irish pub). Rue 57 already mentioned for breakfast would be good. Rosa Mexicano for Mexican, Empire Szechuan for Chinese. Angelo's pizza on west 57th st is very good and has other things besides pizza. Trattoria Dell 'Arte at 7th ave & 56-57 st would be ideal for an informal but very good Italian meal. The Redeye Grill next door is another good informal spot for seafood.

I should have added I think the hotel is in a decent location for shopping. It's not too far from Fifth ave. if you want to shop the major dept stores. It's quite close to Bergdorf Goodman, Henri Bendel's and not too far from Saks. What sort of shopping do you want to do?

Sorry, final thoughts right now, Jean Georges IN your hotel is a wonderful restaurant. They have a prix fixe lunch for $20 if you want to try it without spending a fortune.

Also I meant Rue 57 does breakfast, lunch & dinner.
