Dining in Grants, NM

I know that Grants, NM isn't the hotbed of all things culinary but I'm looking for good breakfast, lunch and dinner while there.

Any suggestions for anything not overly spicy?

I've already posted on Chowhound but have not yet gotten a response. I'm hoping that Fodorites might have the inside scoop.

Thanks :)

LOL, I thought that was you over there on Chow! Sorry, not much help from me on this one. Did you google?

Googling will start after breakfast. Lazy morning here!

Did you look on tripadvisor?

La Ventana seems to get good reports as steak house.
El Caficito as American/Mexican.

There isn't much beyond fast food I am afraid.

I now realize this must be my dumbest Fodor's post. :)

I'm convinced that there is no food worth getting excited about in Grants!

See your post on chow didn't fare much better! Deb

Grants, New Mexico is a spirtually void wasteland..
Never had a good experience with hotel owners and or restaurants as well..the people know they have no options and are stuck and they try and shine their negative vibe on to me but I have learned to suck it up and refuse to even stop there anymore.
I always say a prayer for its lost city..
I do love New Mexico but not Grant's!

Del's restaurant in Tucumcari, New Mexico is one of our favorites.

Had lunch at El Caficito while passing though in June and it was typical of small Am/Mex restaurants, good, but not great food. It was a late lunch so I had a Margarita, and that was the best part of the meal.

We tried El Cafecito and Lotaburger.

Hands down, Lotaburger was the winner. I'd definitely go back there for a burger but wouldn't rush to the New Mexican restaurant. Cafecito was ok but far from a new favorite.

Fries are a must order at Lotaburger. I really liked them.

Mmmmm, Lotaburger.... :-)

I am a bit confused, moldy and Lee Ann - there are Lotaburgers in ABQ, so why the big mmmm about the one in Grants? I find the burgers and fries good, but the service has always seemed verrrrrry slow.

Why get excited about Lotaburger for me? I've never been to one in any city! There are too many other places I want to visit in ABQ so I've never tried their food.

Would I rush to one in ABQ? No. I love too many other places than to go for a burger.

I got it now, moldy! Makes sense to me.

Just adding the mmmmm for Lotaburger because their fries sounded really good when I was reading the thread! :-)

I'm LOL'ing about the amount of posts that dining in Grants is now getting! Who knew it could be such a hot topic!

Wonder if we will make the next edition of Fodor's New Mexico? :D
