Dim Sum in Seattle

My husband and I will be in Seattle on a Saturday and would like any suggestions as to where to have dim sum near Pioneer Square. Also any suggestions for dinner that evening on the way to the airport.

The best dim sum of course, is in Chinatown. Now I forget, but is Pioneer Square near there??

Yup. Just a few blocks. Walk east up Jackson (away from the water)... Pioneer Square is at 1st thru 3rd Ave So, International District/Chinatown is around 5th thru 9th or so and then sits to the south of Jackson.

I like House of Hong myself. It's a big family popular place. Nothing fancy but full dim sum menu. I hestiate to recommend specific because dim sum restaurants, times, days, quality seem to change now and then.

Just walk there around lunch time and take a look around is my best advice.

Ditto on House of Hong...I also like China Gate on 7th (also in the International District).

As for dinner on the way to the airport, there's really not much to recommend...I'd have dinner towntown then head to the airport.

Thanks Suze! It's been a few years since we've been there, but I recall that House of Hong came highly recommended as well as China Gate, Four Seas, and Honey Court Seafood. I don't even remember the one we ended up going to!!

My favorite was the old Hong Kong with the dragon on the ceiling, but it is a thing of history!

Why I enjoy House of Hong is that it's a fairly large restaurant, and very popular with tons of families. When dim sum is 'big' like that, it makes for lots of different item selections, and the carts offerings fresher because things are getting gobbled up so quick.

I was a long time devotee to House of Hong but it just has not held up in recent years. I recommend Honey Court.

516 Maynard in the International District
