Did you get married in Hawaii?

Am interested in your experience with a wedding in Hawaii. Where was the wedding held? What would you change (besides spouse) about it? What would you recommend?

A friend did - on Makena Beach on Maui. It was just the wedding couple and their best friends and a wedding planner took care of all of the details. They were married at sunset and the pictures were absolutely gorgeous. Dinner with cake following at their hotel.

Yes, we were married on the sandy golden beach near Princeville Hotel (now St Regis), Kaua`i overlooking Hanalei Bay and the inspiring Napali coast (a.k.a. Bali Hai) mountains, which made for great((P)). Would not change a thing.

We used Bali Hai Weddings (see ((#))sunset photo of couple in area near our wedding site, link: http://www.bestplaceshawaii.com/kaua...rdinators.html)

We were married years back at what is now the Marriott in Waikoloa on the BI(it was called the Royal Waikoloan at the time). I used an in house wedding planner and we were married at sunset at the A-Bay beach which the hotel sits on. It was probably one of the easiest things I have ever booked, basically just picked the day and set the time and the hotel took care of everything else. However, we had no guests, no reception etc but I still think the planner was so well informed and experienced that it would have been just as easy. We had a party when we came home to Canada

We got married in the Fern Grato on Kauai-don't think it does them any more-over 28 years ago. We got our license on the Big Island. My friends parents owned a condo there & we had our reception in their club house. My husband took me there on our 3rd date so we had to get married there. Hadn't been back to Maui since we got married there & we were last weeks with family. Great time.

WE got married on Annini Beach, Kauai.
Really wouldn't change a thing, except the weather, that
was the year Hawaii was "stuck" in a Kona Low...30+ days of rain. Although it didn't rain until later that night, it was gray and windy on our wedding day!

Yes. We were married in 1992 on the beach at Kings Knoll on the Big Island. It was a sunset wedding, gorgeous weather that night. We went for a moonlight sail to watch the whales afterward. It was wonderful. Two things I would have done differently.
a. I would have had the ceremony recorded. It was beautiful and the minister was a poet. His words were so perfect to the moment.
b. I would have bought my dress a little earlier. I waited till the day of the wedding to go get one. On the way I decided to stop for frozen yogurt. It was good yogurt but by then I was running late. I took three dresses into the dressing room. I tried on one which was perfect. In the rush I gave the wrong dress to the salesperson and did not discover the mistake until I was dressing for the wedding. A little too late....the dress was ghastly. Really there are no words for how ugly it was and every time I look at the photos I ask myself if that yogurt was really worth it........
