Diamond Dealer
I am looking for a reputable Diamond Dealer to work with on a purchase in NYC. Is there one in the diamond district anyone has had good business dealings with?
If not second choice is Troy/Birmingham Michigan area. Thank you for your help on this. |
bluenile.com my fav
some issues with using Israeli "conflict diamonds" makeing their prices very competitive right now. Beware many shysters scammers they might get the diamond mine and u might get the shaft... |
It is worth using a special diamond merchant - rather than a local jeweler only if 2 conditions apply
' 1) you are planning on spending a significant amount of money (don't bother for $1 or $2 thousand) 2) you know enough about diamonds to know what you're looking at - not just size and cut - but also color and quality (If you don;t it's really easy to overspend) And you never trust any dealer - you buy only on the basis of a confirmatory valuation by a jeweler of your choice. For a basic engagement ring or ear studs you are better off going to a reputable local place |
After doing a great deal of research in both retail stores (regular and high-end), Blue Nile and other online sources, and a Diamond District jeweler whom they didn't like, my son and his fiancé recently bought her engagement ring and wedding band from a second DD jeweler, Blauweiss-Berkowitz. They were very happy with the service and the price..

Let me check, I know someone who works in the Diamond District.
Roughly what type of cut, clarity, and size? |
Halo style round diamond studs, size ~1.75 ct wt.
Looking at S1-2 and E-G color. Or round cut with a halo style jacket. Thanks |
Thanks I will send it along.

Peter Germano is regularly recommended on tripadvisor forum and many people have bought engagement rings from him and been very satisfied. http://www.peterjgermano.com/index.html

My friend who designs engagment rings and works in the Diamond District asked if you can google some designs, so he can better help you.

You are only four years too late.
