Diabetic testing equipment on aircraft
 

Is it permissible to take on board an aircraft the lancing devices (1/8 inch point and harmless) that diabetics use to draw blood for testing purposes? Is a doctor's letter required or not? There should be lots of diabetic out there with experience. Thanks.

Well my stepson flies all the time with his diabetic equipment. I do know that he carries a letter from his Dr.

May I suggest that you call the airline you will be using to confirm with them the proper procedures. With so many people with diabetis you will not have a problem, but good knowledgable info will have you feel safe and secure.

Don't forget to take along whatever snacks you may need while on your flight also.

We had a 5 week holiday in the USA in Sept/Oct . Our son is diabetic. We did bring a letter from his dioctor, but we never had to show it. We just told the security staff before they xrayed Jack's hand luggage that there was syringes and testing equipment in his stuff.
