DFW where to stay in Grapevine

I am heading to Dallas for a few days and want to visit the grapevine mills mall and the dallas world Aquarium. I am looking for somewhere to stay in the 75-100$ range. If anyone has any favorite places let me know.

Also has anyone been to the Dallas world aquarium?

Dallas World Aquarium is VERY cool! It is definitely worth a visit.

I live in Grapevine, and the Grapevine Mills mall is pretty good. It has lots of outlet stores and a good food court. It is a BIG mall and you can easily spend half a day there if you want to do some serious shopping!

As for places to stay, your price range hits most of the "chain" hotels like La Quinta, Hampton, etc. We have all of these in Grapevine, as well as all over the city. What else are you planning to do while you're in Dallas? You might want to stay closer in to downtown...

What else are you planning to do while you're here?

Well my wife will arrive for the first time to the USA from Brazil. So I am not sure really what to do in Dallas. I am from waco so its not a bad drive. I thought i would take her to the Mall as i said to the rainforst cafe. I really dont know what to do in dallas but i want to avoid as much driving around in circles. I am still thinking...if you have any ideas let me know and thanks!

I was out to dinner last weekend and we all were talking about retirement/relocation places. Grapevine came up as a great community and also for it's great high school football program.. which is what our son plays. I was curious as to what makes this community so great.

Can you share what the town is like and the people.

Thanks

Mike, there are TONS of things to do in the DFW area! Here's a good website: www.guidelive.com. Dallas and Fort Worth both have really good museums and cultural activities, and Grapevine also has a historic Main Street that your family may enjoy.

As for relocating here, Grapevine and several other area suburbs have very good high school football programs. The City of Grapevine just celebrated its 100-year anniversary. The City gets lots of revenue from sales taxes and DFW Airport, so we have good streets and city services, a wonderful library, and low crime. Our senior center is very active, so more people are finding this to be a good place to retire! Housing can be expensive, but if you look carefully, and act quickly, there are house sin all price ranges available.

People in Grapevine tend to act more like they live in a small town. We also are a very popular tourist destination, and everyone here knows that, so most people here are very friendly!

Thanks for the reply. Is the tourist area because of the lake?

The lake draws a few tourists, but they mostly come for the wineries in town, the cute shops on Main Street downtown, Grapevine Mills Mall, and to stay at the Gaylord Texan hotel. We also have a popular vintage railroad that runs to the Stockyards in Fort Worth.
