Destination Ideas - women in late 20s
Every year my college girlfriends and I get together over Memorial Day weekend. In the past we have hit:
Vegas, New Orleans, Hilton Head, Kansas City, Denver, NY... looking for ideas for 2006. There are 9 of us and we like a mix of nightlife, beach/pool, warm climate is ideal.

San Fran? Chicago? Would Vancouver be too cool temp-wise?? What about the Bahamas?? Mexico?? Without knowing where you guys live, it's hard to know if it's doable..

Some of my college girlfriends and I do the same thing every couple of years. Two spots we enjoyed were Santa Barbara and Seattle.

Del Coronado Hotel on the beach on Coronada Island in San Diego.

HI--my son and his college friends just met in Chicago the week end before Memorial Day. They had a great time w/all the great rstrnts, sights and nightlife, and it was *before* the brutal heat of summer begins. It may or may not be too early for the beach but not too early to enjoy being down by Lake Michigan.

South Beach, Miami.

The Paradise Point resort in Mission Bay, San Diego, would be perfect.

Another option would be the Tampa Bay area -- plenty of nightlife in Tampa, great beach activities on the other side of the Bay.

thanks to everyone for their replies. We are literally scattered all over the country so we all just hop on a plane and meet in the chosen location. these are some great ideas ! thank you very much.

We had a great girls trip to Key West one year too...

have you considered Santa Fe?

What are the boys going to be doing??? :)

Cancun or South Beach in Miami...

Another vote for San Diego.

I think SF is a great city and I love it, but you aren't likely to find warm weather - SF is pretty moderate and rarely gets too far from 60F either direction. But it meets your other criteria.

Have you considered Charleston or Savannah?

San Diego, Boston, Austin, TX.

We have had *way too many* Mem Day wknds in Boston where temps were quite unpleasant. Sea breezes at that time of year can also make even a nice day feel chilly. They said that warm climate and beach/pools were desirable and while many Mem Days are lovely, it is too much of a risk if they are really counting on it being warm, IMO.

I'm no authority but one idea that would be the most unusual and hopefully memorable experience you all ever had, is to go to a nice nudist resort. I'm really not trying to be funny; I think it might be a great idea for all of you. Just think of all the memories you will have in the future. Good luck.

I was thinking, Key West.

you may also want to try Austin tx. plenty of clubs with it's large music scene i'd imagine you could find a reasonable resort in its environs!

Not so sure of nightlife, but there is Tuscon, Az, Boulder Co (not sure about warm) , Aspen too.

Night life and climate tho, i think i'd say Austn.

I'd trade the nightlife for spa treatments, jeep rides, biplane rides and hike in the red rocks of Sedona.

OneWanderingJew Jun 19th, 2005 06:40 AM

Ooh, Sedona. Love it...too bad they only have a weekend b/c the drive will eat up a couple of hours each way...Alternatively, there are some nice spas in Scottsdale and Phoenix and it's a big airport so they can fly to whereever and meet up more quickly...
