Destin Area Lodging
 

Would like to know if anyone has any info on resonable priced lodging in the Destin/Ft Walton Beach area. I can not find anything for less than $100. and >. Need a place for just me and my husband and would like it to be on the beach or at least have easy access to the beach.We will be there June 18-21. Is it safe to go there without booking a room in advance? Thanks for your help!

I'm sure that you realize it's the high season for the dates you indicated. I would not go without a reservation. You should check with some of the realty companies in the area. Good luck! It will be extremely hot by that time especially since it is so warm now in early May.

Try VRBO.com. You can also post a want ad here. I posted a want ad for Panama City Beach for Memorial Day weekend and got two or three responses from Destin.

I also recommend VRBO(www.VRBO.com) website. They list rental properties by owner. We have been to the Destin area several times. We stay in Navarre,Florida. It is about 30-40 min. west of Destin. Certainly a lot less crowded and more peaceful. Then we drive into Destin if we feel like it. Seagrove Beach is also another place to try it is very close to Destin and One Seagrove Place(www.oneseagroeplace.com) is beachfront and usually less expensive also in Destin try the Edgewater Condos. You can also try Abbott Resorts(www.Abbottt-resorts.com)They have a wide selection in the area. Seagrove and Edgewater are older properties but the beach and water are so pretty you will have a great time at any of these places. It just depends mostly on what you are looking for in your vacation. Have a great time.
