desert movie scene, where is it?

There is a place, appears to be somewhere in the Southwest, that I have been wanting to know.

I have seen the place in many movies but can't remember a specific one.

The place seems to be very dry, almost a desert. There is a straight two lane road that goes on and on. On one side is a row of old style utility poles of some sort that also goes on and on along the road. The road goes up and down the gentle rolling hills. The scene is often used to show the characters running away from something or going thru hassles to get to somewhere. Does someone know where this place might be?

CAN YOU BE ANY MORE VAGUE THAN THIS? I CAN NAME ABOUT 4 MILLION PLACES THAT LOOK LIKE THIS.

There are so many places that it could be~the desert and Southwest being so big and all...they did a lot of filming of the roads leading from LA to Las Vegas on Hwy 15 for a while there, also through some areas in Tucson Az there are stretches of highway that have been used, out near the (no longer there) Old Tucson film studios...but there are so many places~~

Some possible, US Highway 395 between Adelanto & Kramer Junction in CA....Route 50 in Nevada east of Fallon and west of Ely...The Panamint Valley road between Trona, CA and CA Route 190....Route 66 in CA, or AZ.

This isn't very definite, but someone once told me that Hollywood often used the area around Sedona, AZ, to film a lot of desert scenes.

Man! This site is really going downhill with questions like this!

Sedona is filled with red rocks and mountains. The above poster was correct. Many movies were made there. In fact, there is a book in Sedona with pictures from all then westerns that were made among the famous red rocks of the area. Great town to visit.

As for the long lonely road. Hell, Just go to the panhandle of West Texas and pick a road...any road.

Maybe its the road from LA to Las Vegas. Anyone?

The road from LA to LAS is an interstate. It is not a lonely 2 lane highway.
