Des moines restaurant

We will be traveling to Des moines at the time of our 25th anniversary. Can anyone recommend a nice restaurant there?
Thanks,
Annie

More for topping than anything else. I like the Latin King just east of downtown. It has great Italian food though I'm not sure it has a 25th anniversary ambiance. :-)

Maybe someone can recommend one in West Des Moines in the suburbs.

Although been a few years since I lived in Des Moines and didn't go out for a nice romantic dinner as a teen. Here are some that I remember that had good decent food. Maybe not the best anniversary restaurants but a start.

The Machine Shed is a good choice if you don't need candlelight and music. They have a good reputation and a big menu to choose from including steak. Their web site tells more about it and has menus to look at: www.machineshed.com/desmoines

With all respect, the Machine Shed is not what I would consider or recomend for a 25th anniversary or special occasion.

Depends on what you want - here are some ideas -
for steak and such:801 Steak and Chop House downtown - spendy, but very nice

for seafood: Splash also downtown, also quite spendy

Italian: Cosi Cucina in Urbandale

French: Chat Noir near Drake

Check to see if these places are in existance, as I too haven'tlived in Des Moines for years.

Congratulations on celebrating 25 years together! When is your anniversary and how many people will be attending the celebration? I live in Des Moines, so if it hasn't passed by already, I would suggest these restaurants that are good for special occasions: Latin King (on the east side), 801 Steak & Chop (downtown), Splash (downtown), Sage (in Windsor Heights), Nick's (in West Des Moines) and Jimmy's American Cafe (in West Des Moines, ask for the party room). Enjoy!
