Des Moines for one night -- any tips for Fair and lodging?
 

I am planning a one-night visit in Des Moines during the State Fair. I've never been there -- if you have, can you recommend a good hotel that would facilitate a visit to the Fair? Any tips for visiting the Fair? I don't need to attend any of the music concerts, I would like to see the typical sights, the butter cow and whatever else is a "don't-miss". I won't have a car, can I Uber?

I'll arrive in the evening so will be at the Fair at night and will spend one night and depart the next day. Any tips for a good breakfast?
