Dependable Airport Hotel Shuttlebus

Does anyone have recent experience staying at a close-by SFO hotel with frequent and dependable shuttle service to that airport? We are catching a 7am flight, SFO to Chicago.

Almost all the airport area hotels have shuttles -- and are dependable. You just need to contact the individual hotel to see what time their shuttles start.

Best Western El Rancho Inn!

I've use the El Rancho several times and probably 8 other airport hotels over the years. None have had any issues re the shuttle. The El Rancho used to be my go to property but it is not the bargain it once was.

You mean the hotel shuttle? You will need a 24-hr shuttle... is taxi an option?

I stayed at the Sofitel in Redwood City a few years ago and think their shuttle is reliable, but they don't run that early--if you want to be there at 5 am. most hotel shuttles don't, in my experience. Some start at 5, Sofitel's starts at 6. I try to be at airports about 2 hours ahead domestically, at least for that long a trip. Some short local routes, maybe 1.5 hours. Sofitel is only 10 miles from SFO. The shuttle is first come, first served, also, you can't reserve it.

I would never count on a hotel shuttle at that hour if you don't have any leeway. I'd just take a taxi, if you are close, it's not going to cost that much, especially at that time of day.

I second Christina's advice. For a 7AM flight make sure the shuttles start early enough. You'll have much better luck finding 24/7 shuttle service at larger hotels and chains.
