Denver or Boulder to stay in
We are going to Denver in October (middle of the month) and driving to Vail, Estes Park, and Winter Park. For our last 2 nights we wanted to stay in either Denver or Boulder but don't know which one is nicer. We have our 2 little dogs with us so it has to be pet friendly. Does anyone have any suggestions?
We have the hotel in Estes Park, Vail, and Winter Park booked. This is our last place that we're stuck on and don't know what to do. I know the La Quinta in Boulder takes pets. Has anyone stayed there? Denver has 97 hotels that takes pets. We thought we might like to go to Boulder instead of Denver because there would be more hiking to do with the dogs. Please advise!! Thank you |
I live in Denver now, but have also lived in Boulder and still spend a fair amount of time there. Both cities are great, each for different reasons. I think you're right that Boulder may be a better location for things to do with your dogs. Places to hike with dogs are within a very short drive from downtown Boulder, and there are places along Boulder Creek right in town, too. Or Eldorado Canyon is a few minutes' drive south of Boulder-- it's a beautiful place to hike and see rock climbers. (I don't have personal experience with the La Quinta, though.)

From my Colorado traveling experience, it's Boulder all the way!

My husband has stayed in the La Quinta in Boulder and is fine with it. I vote for Boulder!

Thank you very much for the quick responses. It sounds like Boulder is the place to go.
If anyone knows about a good pet friendly place in Boulder that would be great. For now, it looks like it might be the LaQuinta. Does anyone know if the LaQuinta has a pretty view? Do I even need a nice view? Anything else you can tell me about Colorado or Boulder would be great. This is our plan while we are there: Fly into Denver from Atlanta Day 1- Drive to Estes Park and spend 2 nights there Day3- Drive to Winter Park and spend 1 night there Day 4- Drive to Vail and spend 1 night there Day 5 and 6- Drive to Boulder OR Denver and spend 2 nights there. |
If you like campuses, CU- Boulder is a fun one to visit. It is spectacular, with its red flagstone and red tile roof buildings, and views of the Flatirons in the distance. You can walk the campus with your dogs, and enjoy the scenery.
