Denver Layover
 

We have a 3 hour layover at the Denver airport soon. Is there anything in the airport that might be of interest to a mom and teen DD, or at least an interesting place to hang out and let DD do homework for a couple hours?

Can't say that DIA is a destination airport from points of interest inside security, but you'd find the best shopping and restaurant area in the middle of Concourse B (United). If you land at Concourse A or C, just go to the lower level and take the train. If you go to the main terminal, you'll have to go back through security - not too much of interest to see there anyway, other than the unique architecture of the circus-tent like structure.

In Concourse B, there are some decent places to eat on the upper-most level, mainly Wolfgang Puck's "fast food" outlet and an area with table and chairs which is one of the better places to hang out. There are some small boutique shops, in paticular a scenic artsy photography shop, that are interesting to browse. There's a Qwest business center as well if you need computer access (not sure how much that costs).

There is a walkway with ceiling-to-floor windows that spans a taxiway between concourse A and the main terminal. You can stand there and watch the big jets pass under you as they either arrive at the concourse, or leave.
You can also walk up and down concourse A and see how many different animals you can spot on the tails of Frontier Airlines planes.

If you have to go back through security don't short change the time it may take. The maze at Denver can be very full at times.

Thanks so much! I haven't had a long layover at Denver in years, so didn't know what all they had. Looks like we shouldn't be too bored;) We have a 3 hour layover both directions. DD loves photography, so that will suit her just fine.

We are flying on Frontier, so looking at the map I believe that is concourse A.
