Denver in March--cold?

Thinking of going to Denver the first week in March but wondering how cold it will be. Are we looking at below freezing, cold, blizzard weather? Also, is there lots to do there? We like theater (dinner theater, broadway shows, community theater), sightseeing, hiking (not too strenuous) and shopping. We were originally thinking of Atlanta but in researching it, we came across a lot of negative comments and thought we probably wouldn't enjoy it.

Honestly, the thing about CO weather is...you never know. Especially in March. We could have the biggest blizzard of the year, like we did last March, or it could be 75 and sunny! Sorry-not much help but best to be prepared for anything.

You could expect all of the above reguarding weather. Sometimes it will snow in the morning, then reach 60 in the afternoon. It just depends on the systems coming over the mountains.

The other posters are correct. More than likely you will encounter 60 degree days (very possibly it could be even warmer). On the other hand, we can get the most amount of moisture in March out of any other month and it could be more like 30 degrees. This winter has not been majorly cold for us though, we have only had a few days where it was really cold (nothing like North Dakota cold though). I would pack for semi warm weather but be sure to pack pants, a good pair of shoes that would do well in snow and maybe 2 warmer shirts (sweatshirts, long sleeve shirts, extc...) and bring a jacket. Another thing to keep in mind is that it often snows and is colder in the morning and then the sun comes out and melts almost everything as it is doing today.

Went to Denver on a buisness trip several years ago in early September and there were 8 inces of snow when we landed - but the next day it was 55. Pack for anything.
