Denver in 3 days

Hello. Me and my 2 friends are staying in Denver for the next 3 days (Sunday thru Tuesday) and we were wondering what are some fun things to do here or around? We already went to Colorado Springs and we just arrived in Denver. We were planning on going to Breckenridge for the day and come back at night (Sunday) but I've read some forums where it says it's not worth it because of the traffic. Are there any other suggestions? We are staying in Denver these 3 nights but doesn't mean we necessarily have to stay in Denver during the day. We are in our mid twenties and are open to anything!

You can check to see if there are any openings on the free tour of the US mint. http://www.usmint.gov/mint_tours/?ac...artreservation

Rocky Mountain National park via Boulder on US36
Blackhawk/Central City casinos (scenic drive)
Denver's natural history museum is nice, as is the art gallery
The mint? Maybe in a few decades:)

You have to go to Boulder. It's really beautiful and cool, great bars and shop, great people. Mountains all around. Really wonderful.

Boulder and RMNP would be a really nice dip into beautiful and fun Colorado.
I'd take my grandchildren to the Mint.

What are you interests - museums or bars? Go to Breckenridge on Monday and hit Georgetown either going to or from. The returning local ski traffic on Sunday night into Denver should be avoid at nearly all costs. But Monday is a completely different situation. You could drive through Boulder on to Estes Park and partly into RMNP but the road is closed for the winter about half way up.
