Denver Airport Hotels

Wife & I are flying to Denver for a few days for a college graduation in May. Will be flying in late on a Thursday and thinking of just getting a room near the airport and then moving to the hyatt downtown for fri & sat. Any suggestions on a nice place to crash?

There are several hotels mear the airport, mostly the major chains. Our favorite is the Embassey Suites.

As padams421 points out, you will encounter many major hotel chains between the airport and downtown. Many of them are new so the rooms are mostly in good shape. Embassy suites is a good choice as there are two of them in that area--one is quite close to the airport.

There is something else to consider, however. Even if you go to a hotel close to the airport chances are it will take you 15 minutes. In 30 minutes you could be downtown checking into your Hyatt. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Al is very wise. take the extra 15 minutes and get downtown, you wont have to repack and you'll be that much more thankful in the a.m.

You are all right. There wont be any traffic issues at that time of night if I get into DEN at 11pm. By the time I rent my car and get bags it will be late.

I'd take the extra time and go downtown. While the airport hotels are fine for their intended use, the area is pretty plain--only two stand-alone restaurants (a Bennigan's and a diner) and nothing else. If you have to stay at the airport, go to Embassy Suites--it's the newest.
