Denver Airport - Buying Beer!

Little bit different request.

We'll be driving into & then flying out of Denver to get back home. We want to grab a case of Fat Tire Ale before we leave (no can get here). Prefer not to scour the area, with which we're unfamiliar. Can anyone recommend a large or well-supplied liquor store/beer distributorship that's either near the airport, or along I70 (coming in from the west)?

TIA!

Moonstone1,

I'm assuming you're coming out of the mountains on I-70? If that's the "case", then you'll be passing by an excellent liquor store right off of I-70: Applejacks.

After emerging from the mountains on I-70, you'll pass the 6th Ave. turn-off followed closely by the Colfax (longest street in the United States!) exit. Shortly after these two you'll see signs for 32nd & Youngfield (exit 264). Exit at Youngfield, turn left at the first light, go three blocks to 32nd and turn right. Applejacks Liquor is 1/2 a block down on LHS.

It's very easy to find, get into and then return to the highway.

Good Luck!

I'll second AL's excellent recommendation of Applejacks. That was my first thought, too. Have a great trip!

Thank you both!!

Perfect. Applejacks it is!

The things we do for our favorite beers... :)

Moonstone1,

As you're probably aware Fat Tire is made by the Wynkoop Brewery in LoDo. If you ever get the chance, stop in there and try their St. Charles ESB--it's one of the best beers I've ever tasted.

Unfortunately, St. Charles isn't available in liquor store like Fat Tire.

Hi,

Actually Fat Tire is made by New Belgium in Fort Collins. Another great Colorado made beer is Left Hand Brewery's Sawtooth Ale.

Cheers, Terri

I stand corrected.

Aw...you guys are making me miss
my years in Denver-I left at the beginning of LoDO, but sure recall runs to Applejacks. Best skiing ever at Copper!
We used to stroll aroung Washington Park on hot summer eves-can you still do that?

razzledazzle,

I used to live at 1076 S. Washington (four blocks from the park and, yes, you can still take summer evening strolls around the park without problems.

BTW, Copper has always been one of my very favorite ski mountains!
