Denali to Seward
We are planning on taking the train up to Denali, but a bus back to Anchorage after spending two nights. But we think we will pick up our car that same afternoon in Anchorage, instead of staying over, and drive to Seward. Is that too much to do all in one day? thanks

It is about 120 miles from Anchorage to Seward. Trip weill take less than 3 hours. You should be able to do both segments in one day.

Yes, and..why? You will possibly be soooo exhusted! Happy Planning, Oaktown Traveler |
just thought we could have more time in the Kenai peninsula since we're only away for ten days total.

I wouldn't recommend it. The bus Denali Park to Anchorage is about 6 hours, you then need to allow another 3 to Seward- it's not all 55mph driving. AND there are many "distractions" along the way to see. Are you giving yourself anytime in Anchorage- definately worthwhile and don't miss it. What are your plans for Seward?? If you leave the next day and overnight there- leaving early evening back to Anchorage- you will be able to take in plenty of sights, including a Kenai Fjords boats trip (need at least 6 hours on the water for best wildlife viewing opportunities).
