Delicious Breakast Places in NO
We'll be staying in the French Quarter and would love some suggestions for good breakast places. Know about Brennan's and Cafe DuMonde, so other recommendations would be appreciated. thanks

It's been a few years, but I had a wonderful experience with the jazz brunch at Arnaud's: http://www.arnauds.com/jazz_brunch.html. The food was excellent, price fair, and the ambiance great, and not all tourists - we were there shortly before Mardi Gras and the king of one of the krewes was holding court in one corner of the room.

Skip the touristy places (mentioned above by you and another)!
Here is a second vote for Petunia's! |
Still love Mothers.

Thanks -- I forgot about Petunias, had breakfast there on our last trip and it was good.
TC, is this the same Mother's that does the po boy sandwiches? |
I never had the Po'boys. We've only eaten breakfast there. Although Mother's has become quite the tourist destination, there is a reason -- the food is delicious. Its quite a dive of a place inside, loaded with locals as well as travelers, but its an experience I love to repeat on each visit. Can't get enough of the biscuits or the "debris".

Oooooh, I forgot a great breakfast place --- a bit out of the Quarter. It is Lil’ Dizzy’s Café a short walk up Esplanade above Rampart Street.
http://www.southerngumbotrail.com/baquet.shtml You'll love it!!!! Breakfast or lunch --- it can't be beat! And it is NOT touristy. |
We like Johnny's Poboys for breakfast (and lunch too!!). It's either on Conti or St. Louis near the river and Omni Royal Orleans.
