delicious & reasonable in SF & Sonoma/Napa

I've been doing a lot of searching & most restaurant recommendations seem to be pricey. We've made reservations at a few of the nice places, but we're looking for more reasonble places (under $25 per entree- ideally even less!) for the nights in between. We'll be in SF for three nights, sonoma for two nights & napa for one night. No preferred cuisine but we'd like to stay away from italian (we have it all the time in new york!) recommendations??

What town in Sonoma County and What town in Napa County?

I ask as this is a place you truly don't want to drink and drive!

Where do you have ressies already?

Cafe LeHaye )?) Sonoma; General's daughter also in Sonoma; Bistro Ralph in Healdsburg. Several charming small restuarants in Healdsburg. These re more California cuisine. They aren't cheap but I'm sure you can get entree for under $25.00. It isn't the entree's that will eat into your budget, it is the wine!

We just had a divine dinner at Limon, on Valencia in SF. Food is Peruvian fusion (who knew there was such a thing?) and honestly, it was fabulous. Check out the menu at www.limon-sf.com.

Le Charm has a prix fixe three course dinner for $28/person and it is top notch food!

Bruno's might be a good choice too. It's very retro-hip with low prices.

Also love 2223 Market, Red Grill, and Mecca.

In Sonoma - La Poste (it's a tiny French Bistro) -- yum.

Cafe La Haye and the girl and the fig are both very nice. (Sonoma) We've had a couple of good meals at the General's Daughter, also. We recently enjoyed Doce Lunas in Kenwood for lunch. ***kim*** ((f))

I believe, unfortunately, that La Poste has closed. He's moving to a larger location. Girl and the Fig and Le Haye are two of the best in Sonoma. There is also a Portugese restaurant in Sonoma that is quite interesting and very good.

The Portuguese restaurant in Sonoma is called La Sallete. Very good food with wine lists that will allow you to sample non-California stuff (iin case you get saturated with local wines during your stay).

Bistro Jeanty in Yountivlle and Cindy's Backstreet kitchen in St. Helena's and Willi's Wine Bar in Healdsburg/Santa Rosa are very good restaurants for your budget.

I believe General's Daughter has also closed. The girl and the fig is great. They have their sister restaurant, the fig cafe, in Glen Ellen. Only open for dinner and it is a good wine bar.

Oh... and for a good burrito, try Taqueria Sonoma or Juanita, Juanita.

Wow. La Poste and the General's Daughter have closed. Both of these were so popular. Both are reopenning to other quarters I assume. Right?

Willi's Wine Bar in Santa Rosa! Loved it.
