delani park suggestions

hi, will be visiting delani park in alaska in mid august. we are debating whether to take the shuttle bus (up to eileson) or to take a tour bus. The tundra 13 hour trip is too long for us.
any suggestions? thanks

Do you mean Denali (de-na-li) National Park? I've never been there, but perhaps your misspelling is the cause of the lack of responses. Try reposting with the correct spelling & Alaska in your title, you'll probably net out better.

Here's the link to the National Park website for Denali.

Both are about the same. The tour bus will usually include a meal, park bus doesn't. Both have drivers which double as naturalists. Tour bus will not drop you and pick up up later like the park shuttle buses will if they have room available.

If you'll do a search on this forum you'll find a majority will recommend the park shuttle bus. No matter who you use, they will be taking old school buses, just different colors. The shuttle drivers will stop for wildlife and will share their knowledge. Best of all, they are much cheaper.

A lot of people here will tell you you HAVE to get on the early bus to see wildlife. We didn't get on until 1:00 and saw tons of wildlife--several grizzlies and more moose and caribou than I can remember. What we really liked was the bus was only half full versus the packed early morning buses.

Take food, water, binoculars, wet wipes (it's very dusty) and put everything in a bag that will keep all that dust out. They take many bathroom stops but there isn't anywhere to buy food or drinks. There is a water fountain at Eilson.
