Bellagio is a nice hotel but NOT worth what they are asking you to pay. In my 25+ times to Vegas, my favorite hotel (in the location you want) is Paris. It won't take you days to find your way out of the casino to the street, the rooms are nice, and they have a great little bakery. Even when we stayed at Bellagio, we walked over to the Paris every morning for coffee.
The pool area of the Bellagio is nice, but the rooms are not anything special.

Las Vegas is the one city where I don't mind hotel hopping. I might consider Bally's for four nights and splurging on the Bellagio for the final night.
Enjoy your trip!

No way would we change hotels--that's way over my personal hassle limit!

Have you already made up your mind? If not, I love Paris for many reasons, one of which is its central location and the fact that it is one of the few LV properties where you walk out the front door and you are actually on the Strip and not some 1/4 mile ramp! I also love the atmosphere in the casino and public areas, and it is the only buffet I look forward to. We usually have a brunch at the buffet when we are in LV. Best baguettes and crepes outside of the real Paris!!

One of the best hotel/casino's for easy access to the strip(it takes literally minutes from your room to the strip), is Bill's Gambling Hall. It has fantastic large well decorated rooms and does not cost a fortune, the location is opposite Ceasers. We enjoyed this place much better than Bally's or Bellagio which IMO, are both very over-rated and Bally's is getting very run down and in need of renovation.

We got back an hour ago, and Bally's worked out great. The location was perfect, our room was large, the bathroom elegant--and we did not find the hotel to be run down at all.

abram..did you do the $44 a night at bally's from expedia?
that was a great deal..what ethnic restaurants did you dine at?
glad you had fun!

I found that rate at www.i4vegas.com
We had a wonderful meal at The Border Grill--with a restaurant.com coupon, it wasn't overly expensive.
We had excellent, reasonably priced sushi at Yama Sushi, about a mile east of the Strip on Flamingo. Their all you can eat sushi price (we didn't do that) was $22.95 and included everything on the menu.
Mon Ami Gabi was also very good.

We're heading to Las Vegas in January. Did you stay in the Bally's south or north tower. For our dates, the south tower is $269 and the north tower is $347. Trying to decide if it's worth it.

Thanks for the info.

I don't know which tower we were in--but given the price, I'd say the cheaper one.

Read your comments on last trip to Vegas and like your help for our first time to Vegas. Wife and I want to go in June for a week to celebrate our 45th Anniversary. We are on a very tight budget and having hard time deciding where to stay and if we need to rent a car to see some sites away from strip on weekend. Who did you rent your car from and where?
We are not gamblers or drinkers just want to have some clean fun to celebrate. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
