Decided on the N.Orleans Hotel Le Richelieu...comments?

After too much research (see my Worst Hotel post) I have decided on the Hotel Le Richelieu....
I am wondering if anyone knows if you can walk safely from that hotel to the French Quarter? Never have been to NO before.
Any negative comments are welcome!!!!! Why do I think there will be?

Its smack in the FQ.Nice hotel.I stayed there on my first trip.Personally, I like staying at hotels that are small enough to feel homey. This place has staff who have been there for years. It makes me feel comfortable. And its 3 blocks from Irene's,one of the best if not THE best places to eat in NoLa.

No matter which hotel you decided on, there would be good and bad posts. It sounds like you picked a nice hotel and you'll probably have a great time - my husband didn't want to go our first trip, and now we've been back each year for the past 7 or 8 and have started making plans for 2003. Just sit back and be ready to enjoy a fantastic city!

We were quite happy with Le Richelieu. Nice room. Quiet location. Free parking.
