Dead time travel
This may not even exist with home schooling, etc., but what is considered dead weeks at Disney World/Epcot - where most kids are in school, no spring/summer break time and the place is not totally packed!!
We're in our 40's and looking for a less stressful time for a vacation away. Thanks. |
The only time I like to go to Florida is after Sept. or Oct. Crowds aren't so bad and neither is the heat.

The slowest time of the year for Disney would be the week after Thanksgiving.
Sept-November are very busy convention months. |
We were there the second week of January one year, and it was very quiet--chilly, but sunny, and a much more pleasant experience all around than being there in the summer!

I have been in travel for years. Two really good times to go are the week before few weeks before the Christmas holiday. Everyone is waiting til the kids are off for the holidays. Parks are pretty empty.
The second time to go is actually Labor Day weekend or right before. Everyone is back home for school. The parks have special rates to bring in the locals to help business. I went both times and didn't have to wait in line at all. Also, look at the website. When you see "low season" you will know when the good time to go is. I found the weather both times were great. Not the most convenient for traveling with kids, but if you can do it you will definitely enjoy the lack of crowds! Keep in mind that sometimes during the slower times they close some rides or hotels for renovation. Make sure and use the website as a reference. Good luck. |
The last week in April is a better week than some - still not horribly hot, public school vacations over, summer vacations not started yet.
