DC to Indiana through Shenandoah
 

Hi everyone!

I am planning to drive through Shenandoah on my way from DC to Indiana. Can you please suggest a scenic drive through Shenandoah that will not be completely out of the way?

Thank you very much! I'm planning to take the 64 from Waynesboro on my way back to Indiana. It'll just add a couple of hours to the drive.

Rhody (my DH) lived in western Kentucky. From the Silver Spring area, we usually went up 70 and across Western Maryland; ​​​​​​then down to Charleston WV (rte. 79?). That was pretty scenic. From D.C., out 66 and the back roads to Charleston are pretty, albeit slower.

​​​​​​After Charleston, we usually took 64 and stopped in Louisville so no help there.

Occasionally, we went south to Nashville and east, but I think the pretty parts were more in the Virginias.
