DC GTG-October 9, 2010
 

Hi to All DC-area residents and visitors.

We are planning a get together on Saturday, October 9, 2010. It will start at 5:30 for drinks and then dinner with those who can stay on, at around 7.

We are still "nailing down" the final destination, but it will be at one of 2 restos on Connecticut Avenue, NW. Stay tuned for that info!

We held one a couple of years ago and it was great fun. My DH, not a Fodorite, really enjoyed meeting such an agreeable group of people. I hope you can return again or for the first time.

Please RSVP at this thread for drinks, dinner or both and I'll get back to you about the exact place and parking/metro info. Pass the word!

count me in as a definite maybe for 2. Just haven't gotten around to thinking in terms of going away or not for the 3 day weekend.

TD - thanks for doing this and StC, thanks for checking the place out and arranging reservations.

I maybe able to attend but I'm schedule to have surgery within the next few weeks. If the surgery doesn't happen before then, count me + 1 to attend.

Sounds like fun. I'm assuming DH is Darling Husband, in which case I'll bring mine. (but if it's Designated Hitter, I don't know any.)

Wonderful, con_brio! Are you planning to stay for dinner? Your DH assumption is correct until some Fodorite comes up with something else (it could happen).

So was there ever a decision made on the food? At some point StCirq suggested ordering as a group. I think it was on the other thread on the GTG.

Good question. I haven't heard back from her about that. Will call the resto if we don't hear from her soon.

Agora doesn't have a private room, so StCirq has made arrangements at another restaurant, Rosemary's Thyme Bistro which is in the same area. She's asking for menu selections, so check it out.

Thanks to TDudette and StCirq for all the work in finding a place for us. I'm not sure yet which place it is, but either is fine with us...

Would it be possible to order ala carte? The menus offered seemed like an awful lot of food. And their Happy Hour menu (we will be there then) seemed diverse enough to satisfy a crowd.
