DC Easter Brunch
Hubbie and I are going to Washington DC for a four-day getaway over the Easter weekend. Does anyone have a brunch recommendation for Easter morning? We like fun, laid-back places with good food. We're staying in Dupont Circle, but could take a cab or Metro. I'd love to hear your ideas! Thanks.

They might already be booked, but if you can get a table..... Cashion's Eat Place. It's fantastic.

We were thinking of Cashion's...they only take reservations for parties of 6 to 8 for brunch :-(

For a JAZZ brunch I suggest Georgia Brown's. Georgia Brown's is also very good, but deciding strictly on the food, I would give the lead to Cashion's.

I also like Chef Geoff's...know the Tenley area location has jazz on Sundays - not sure about downtown.

For an upscale place try the retaurant on top of the Kennedy center-Best Brunch and View i've ever had. For something more laid back-we really like the brunch at Four Coutrs in VA(Courthouse metro) they often have live Irish music or a harpist playing. Our Whitlows on Wilson in VA(Claredon Metro) they have a great brunch and around 11am they bring out all of this great fresh seafood.

Don't know if this might be too far for you, but we had a lovely (and inexpensive) Easter meal at Mt. Vernon one year.

Any recommendations for an Easter breakfast/brunch place for a family of seven? We have a mix of young, teens and old. (We'll be visiting for about 5 days, one of them being Easter Sunday). Thus, would like to find a place for Easter Mass (Catholic) and then someplace for a late breakfast or brunch that won't totally break the bank. Thanks!

Consider Mass at St. Matthew's Cathedral and then brunch at the exquisite, cozy, relaxed Tabard Inn 1 block away(reservations essential).

Thanks for the suggestions. I checked the website and I think the menu would prove hard for the kids in the group...they'd probably prefer a more traditional omlette or french toast type of breakfast/brunch. Any other suggestions? Keep them coming...and thanks so much!

Staying at Mariott Metro Center (12th Street). Will probably hit Easter morning Mass somewhere near our hotel. (Still trying to figure that out...suggestions welcome for Catholic masses) and then brunch/Easter breakfast after. Suggestions? In a different post about Churches I've read about Luna Grill and St Matthews?? Others??

Thank you SO much for the quick response. St. Patrick's sounds ideal, close enough for all of us (teens, toddlers and grandma). The restaurant suggestions are deeply appreciated. Could I also inquire about places central to St. Patrick's that would offer a more standard fare breakfast/brunch...it's those finicky teens and grandma that sort of throw a wrench into meals...
