DC Dinner Recommendations

Looking for dinner recommendations near to the Lincoln Suites hotel at 1823 L St NW, washinton DC. We are a family of four (kigs aged 16 & 12) and enjoy most cuisines but guess looking for somewhere that has a good selection of usual fare - pizzas, pasta, burgers, mexican, steak etc.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Pete,

There are a lot of good places for your family along 19th st between L st. and P st.:

1) The Well Dressed Burrito (in the alley across from 19th & Jefferson)

2) CFFolks (19th & Jefferson)

http://www.cffolkscatering.com/
- get the specials

3) Nooshi (pan-Asian) 19th (between L & M)

4) Luigi's (Italian, of course - the pizza is great!). Right around the corner from Lincoln Suites - on 19th just above L)

5) The Greek Deli (next to Nooshi - get there before noon to avoid the long lines)

6) Fin (seafood, of course) - 19th & Jefferson

There are a lot of mediocre places on 19th as well so be careful.

And 3 blocks SOUTH of your hotel at 1750 Penn. Ave. (close to the White House) is the best of all - don't miss!:

Breadline (breakfast & lunch only - closed Sundays)

They actually do great versions of everything listed in your post, but if you happen there on a Thursday someone should get the softshell crab sandwich - a regional speciality)

You are not far from Dupont Circle, which to me means: Pizzeria Paradiso. The address is 2029 P Street NW. Arguably the best pizza in DC.

Thanks a lot Bardo and Kaudry for the recommendations, they sound great.

If you're looking for basic American food for the kids, there's a Daily Grill at 18th and M Streets. I'd prefer to go to any of the restaurants suggested by bardo1 and kaudrey, but the Daily Grill seems like a decent choice for families.

Hello Doriana,

I've noticed that you live near the Omni Shoreham Hotel in W DC. We'll be there next September for 3 days, with a toddler.

Could you advise me in:
1) Restaurants nearby for dinner (baby friendly);
2) Best transportation mode to reach the tourist attractions;
3) Your opinion on us getting into a full day sightseeing tour (www.dctours.com) just for visiting the main public places. The rest will be walking;
4) The hotel area is safe for walking at night (from/to restaurants) with a toddler?
5) Any other important advise you usefull (because you seem to be so gentile).

Thanks,

Joao Portela

Portela -- I just saw your questions regarding the Woodley Park neighborhood. Has your trip already happened?
